Pasqua Italian Wines, with sales manager Marco DiTano

Riccardo Pasqua, born and raised in Verona, Italy 1978. Studied Business Administration at Milan Bocconi

University and at UCLA, Los Angeles, CA. While in California was very impressed with California wines and

interned at La Crema Winery. Also is passionate about Champagnes, traveled to Avize, located in the heart of

the Cote de Blancs, France where Riccardo interned with the worlds most famous Champagne Houses. Finally

joined the family wine business in Verona 2007, as part of the active 3rd generation wine making family. He

and his family currently reside in New York. Marco DiTano, Western Regional Sales Manager, Pasqua USA

will guide us through enjoying these wines.

There’s a hierarchy of Italian wine classifications. With each step up, the rules about where grapes are grown

and how the wine is produced become stricter. Here are the classifications you will see on Italian wine bottles.

1.Vino - Simple table wine; fewest restrictions

2.IGT - Indicazione Geografica Tipica; follows broad rules about production

3.DOC - Denominazione di Origine Controllata; follows stricter rules about production

4.DOCG - Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita; very strictly controlled production, is meant to

 represent the best Italian wines

Salmon (caught outside of Santa Cruz) lemon butter capers, rice and vegetables

Penne Pasta tossed with sauteed chicken, broccoli, fresh tomatoes, and a light garlic chicken stock.

Tossed green salad with blue cheese dressing, and Spumoni (Frank’s Grandmother’s recipe) for desert. Open

COST: WINO members $60 per person. Guests (prospective members) $70 ea. Members may bring guest at

member price. Non-members may attend their first event at member price. This event is only for ages, 21 and

received by Wednesday January 10th, 4:30pm, then please call or email to let Bruce know. In the case of

you don`t show, you still must pay, because I still have to pay for the meals & wine ordered. You will not be

contacted unless a sellout precludes receipt of your check. There will be no refunds after the above date, unless

your place can be filled.

history. With 52 WINOs there, we’ll be picking up 84 bottles for $1847. Viva did a great job with the dinner.
